(La biographie est seulement disponible en anglais) Born in Sherbrooke, Parents moved to Providence Rhode Island When He was 11 years old. Learned trombone in Junior high school,. Returned to Montreal in 1963, and joined Canadian armed forces as Aircraft mechanic, but took courses from Berklee school of music in Harmony, improvisation, arranging & orchestration. Also took courses from Toronto Conservatory . When in Rhode Island, fell in love with Dixieland greats, heard at the famous Newport jazz fest in the 1950's. Started playing dixieland at age of 15, played in Germany with members of the Van Doo's band. In Ottawa, before military discharge,(1973) Played with the Jazz Ambassadors, with Mick Collins on trumpet.for two years. Formed the Red Diamond Jazz band in 1974 upon arrival in Montreal area. Played at many of the great Jazz clubs at the time. Played at the Montreal Jazz fest last 6 years with the Aces of Dixieland.
